Chicken Divan I

Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups dairy sour cream
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen broccoli spears or 1½ lbs broccoli
  • cooked and drained
  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 12 cooked crepes

 

 
Preparation:
  1. Over medium heat, melt butter in small saucepan.
  2. Stir in flour and cook until bubbly.
  3. Add broth and Worcestershire sauce; cook, stirring until thickened.
  4. Add 2 cups cheese.
  5. Empty sour cream into medium bowl; gradually add hot cheese sauce, stirring
    constantly.
  6. In large shallow baking dish, place cooked broccoli and cooked chicken on each crêpe.
  7. Spoon 1 Tbsp sauce over each. Fold crepes over.
  8. Pour remaining sauce over all.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining cup of cheese.
  10. Cover and heat in 350º F oven for 20 to 30 minutes.

Made this receipe tonight. Family loved it. Brought back many memories, but I think the cheddar cheese I used (Wisconsin) was a bit strong for the sauce. Next time, I will be sure to use a milder cheddar.
